I Want To Do That!

John Krill: I Want To Do That! The little fellow in the lower left was so intently watching the young photographer that I had to believe that's exactly what he wanted to do.

That was at the Target Stage at the Los Angeles Times Festival Of Books.

Looking Down - Opportunity May Strike

John Krill: Beach WalkI don't usually recommend people look down while walking. But at the beach it's a whole different game. There is much to see and observe.

And it's fun.

Into The Sun

John Krill: Canon ShootersThe photo was taken with the Sun directly behind the couple. I was able to correct the exposure somewhat in Adobe Lightroom by brightening the shadows.

But if you use a standard picture editor correcting for the Sun is not possible.

You Still Have To Know How To Take The Picture

John Krill: Flat Screen ConfusionThe Apple iPad may be really cool thing but if you want to take photos with them you still need to know HOW to take pictures. Like pointing your camera, excuse me iPad, directly into the Sun is NOT recommended. You, the picture taker, may be able to see the big screen but I can't believe you'll see anything on it worth while. The two fellows you're photographing will probably be faint outlines with a big bright, make that very bright, Sun in the background. So take some photography lessons and maybe you'll get something worth while.

My Street, My Photography

John Krill: Street PhotographyAll street photography is candid photography. Unposed. Unaware. A snapshot.

Wait a snapshot? Yes a snapshot. What is a snapshot? Here's one possible source of the word:
The term 'snapshot' was probably taken from its use in hunting, where it refers to the hasty firing of a shot at a moving target without taking deliberate aim.*
Isn't that we Street Photographers do - take Snapshots?

The snapshot above was taken at my Main Street - The Boardwalk at Main Beach, Laguna Beach, CA.
