The Biggest Engine You Can Touch

John Krill: The Biggest Engine that You Can TouchWhen you put your hand on the side of this locomotive you can feel the engine purring.

Wait. I think I just went a little too far here. Lets just say they're really cool hot.

A Vertical For Your Viewing Pleasure

John Krill: the VerticalI rarely, if ever, do verticals anymore. It's like we're cropping out whats on the left and right of the image. But sometimes they really do shout VERTICAL.

Disney Hall

John Krill: Disney HallI may be going overboard with all this B&W conversion stuff but the Disney Hall does look good in B&W doesn't it?

CalTrans Atrium

John Krill: CalTrans AtriumI've always enjoyed using Black & White film. Almost always Tri-X. But with digital cameras I haven't converted much to black & white because I just didn't like the look.

Then came Lightroom 4. I actually didn't do anything other than select the Black & White preset 'B&W Look 2.'

I do some Basic adjustments in the Develop module after I've converted to B&W but usually they're minor.

Next time I go to downtown Los Angeles I may shoot everything with converting to B&W in mind.

Why I Take MetroLink

John Krill: Many Faces Of L.A.$9 for all day parking. And a round trip on Metrolink for this senior is only $10.

Spent the day downtown and the total price was $25.

And when I got back home I was still ready to party.
