An Interesting Proposition For Photographers

Over at The Online Photographer, TOP, Mike Johnston has posted an interesting proposition for photographers. I'm not going to explain it here but if you want to know what he is suggesting then go over to the TOP site and see for yourself.

For me it's a project that I've been turning over in my head your the last couple of months. Trouble is I don't live in the Coachella Valley and that's where my special project would be. Specifically along the 111 Highway.

The photo above shows a mall in downtown Palm Springs being torn down so something just as silly can be erected. To the left of the old mall is a hotel. It stays.

The gaint sculpture of Marilyn Monroe has had a colorful history. Here is the story of it's move from Chicago to Palm Springs. The statue will leave Palm Springs on June 10, 2013..

I always stop here to get a photo. It rarely is the same scene.

Stop sometime and give it a try. It's on US 10 just east of the Highway 111 turn-off.

On The Road To Indio

This photo was taken at a rest stop on the way to Indio. From the back of the rest stop you have the best views in the valley of the San Jacinto Mountains. I stop here every time I go out to the Coachella Valley.
