Parked Bike

John Krill: Parked BikeSnapChick was having a B&W day this past Sunday. You were to take a low res b&w photo using the oldest digital camera you currently have. You sent the photo to her web site.

After a long day at a club meeting, where I took this photo, I was just too tired to finish the project.

I also cheated. I didn't use my oldest digital camera and I shot in RAW then used LightRoom to make the B&W image.

After using one of the supplied presets for converting to B&W I darkened the blacks a bit. The fact that the image is not sharp adds to the B&W feel of the photo.

Whatever.

Richard Serra At LACMA

John Krill: Richard Serra at LACMAWhen I was at LACMA for the opening of the Broad building there were two Serra steel sculptures and the ceiling was lower. Now there is one sculpture, and I swear the ceiling is higher. Can't prove it but . . .

The second Serra sculpture was replaced by the toy complex: "Chris Burden: Metropolis II."

I could walk around the sculpture all day and never get tired of it. And the photo possibilities are endless. Infinite. Never ending.

Maybe that's the point. You never see it the same way twice.

Question for LACMA: Was there a second Serra steel sculpture? If yes where is it? And how the hell did you get it out of there?

On The Bus To The Getty

John Krill: Public BusThere is a story here but I just don't have the time to tell it until Tuesday or Wednesday.

But I will say this. For me public transportation works.

This is not your typical passenger load on the bus. For some really strange reason this bus didn't fill up. Every other bus I took for this story was packed. Standing room only. Barely.

One more thing: If you look at the bottom of this post at the labels used you will find most don't fit this story. Trust me they will.
