It's after the surf hits the rocks that I find interesting. Both of the photos were taken from the same location. The second photo has sea water from the previous break flowing out while the next wave hits the rocks.

Public Art In Culver City
After taking the new Expo line to it's terminus in Culver City I took a quick look at the streets surrounding the station stop.
Love public art. The work can be seen from the Metro trains.

Easy Come, Easy Go
These tiny clouds would start forming from nothing and get bigger and bigger until it appears their own mass would collapse on itself and they would be gone.
Thought about doing a time-lapse set but I just knew that when I was ready to start nothing would happen.
And I was correct.

Into The Sun
The photo was taken with the Sun directly behind the couple. I was able to correct the exposure somewhat in Adobe Lightroom by brightening the shadows.
But if you use a standard picture editor correcting for the Sun is not possible.

You Still Have To Know How To Take The Picture
The Apple iPad may be really cool thing but if you want to take photos with them you still need to know HOW to take pictures. Like pointing your camera, excuse me iPad, directly into the Sun is NOT recommended. You, the picture taker, may be able to see the big screen but I can't believe you'll see anything on it worth while. The two fellows you're photographing will probably be faint outlines with a big bright, make that very bright, Sun in the background. So take some photography lessons and maybe you'll get something worth while.

My Favorite Kind Of Sign
It says anything you want it to say. For me it says: "Climb over my chain and enjoy the view from this termite infested, rotting timber, rusting steel, crumbling concrete of a building. It's going to be torn down real soon so don't delay."
Added a couple of hours later: I forget to mention that it sometimes smells like shit inside because of the sewer pump station that's literally below the lifeguard offices. Now that the new pump station is active [It was built next to the existing lifeguard building.] one has to wonder how much shit is left down in the tanks of the old pump system. This is going to be an interesting month at Main Beach, Laguna Beach, CA.
And I will be spending most of the month in Indio, CA.
Speaking of 'Shit,' how's this for a drop your dump story.

Is It Better In B&W?
I'm not really sure I like this photo. It's a converted RAW, of course. It's not the conversion but the image itself. In most cases if I don't like an image in it's original form then converting it to B&W isn't going to make a difference. Usually. Maybe not here.
Or maybe I'm having one of those days.
I will say that Lightroom 4.1 does a nice job of the conversion process. It's the first time I've ever relied on the software shortcuts to B&W. So I can't blame my indifference on the software.
Photo was taken at the Sawdust Art and Craft Festival in Laguna Beach, California. If you want to visit the festival you'll have to wait until next year. Not to worry this particular structure will be back up.
If you can't wait until next year you can visit the Sawdust early next year for their Spring run.
